Set up Custom Diamond Ring Builder

Before you start

• Set each ring product's Shopify price to the price of the setting alone, for example 1850. The diamond is added on top.

1. Install the app

Install Custom Diamond Ring Builder from the Shopify App Store and approve the permissions. The app opens inside your Shopify admin.

2. Load your diamond prices

1. In the app, open Price data.
2. On Upload CSV, download the example file. It already uses your own diamond origins.
3. Replace the example prices with your own and upload the file. The whole file is checked before anything is saved.

To add or change single stones, use Add / edit manually. The CSV guide explains every column.

3. Check your ring products

A ring uses its own Shopify price as the base, so most products need nothing here. Open Ring base prices only if you want to:

• use a base price that differs from the product's Shopify price, or
• turn the selector off for a product.

4. Add ring photos by carat (optional)

1. Open Ring images and choose a shape.
2. Assign a photo to each carat weight. Square images of 1200 × 1200 px are recommended.
3. Save. A carat with no photo falls back to the product photo.

5. Style the selector

Open Appearance. Choose pills or a dropdown for each step, then adjust the layout and shape. The live preview updates as you go. Save when it matches your theme.

6. Add the selector to your theme

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize.
2. Open App embeds and turn on Enable ring builder.
3. Open the product template your rings use, for example Products → Default product.
4. Choose Add block and pick Diamond Ring Builder.
5. In the block settings, set Diamond shape to the shape name used in your price data, for example oval.
6. Hide or remove the theme's own buy buttons on this template, so the selector's button is the only way to add the ring to the cart.
7. Save.

7. Test as a shopper

1. Open a ring product on your storefront.
2. Choose the diamond origin, carat, colour, clarity and ring size. The total updates with each choice, and only stones you have priced are offered.
3. Add the ring to the cart and complete a test order.
4. In Orders, open the order. Every selection is listed on the line item.

Troubleshooting

• The selector does not appear. Check that Enable ring builder is on under App embeds, that the block is on the template this product uses, and that the selector is not turned off for the product under Ring base prices.
• The selector appears but has no options. There are no prices for the block's shape. Check the Diamond shape setting against the shape names in Price data.
• A stone is missing. Add a price row for that exact combination.
