Custom Diamond Ring Builder FAQ

A CSV file with a header row and these columns: shape, origin, carat, colour, clarity, price. An image_url column is optional. See the CSV guide for each column and a template.

The upload replaces the existing prices for the shapes and origins that appear in the file. Shapes and origins that are not in the file are left as they are.

The whole file is checked before anything is saved. If a row is invalid, nothing is imported and the app lists the problems by line number so you can fix them and upload again.

Yes. On Price data, open Add / edit manually to edit a price inline, delete a row or add a new one.

Enter prices in the currency your store trades in.

The selector only offers combinations that have a price. If a stone is missing, add a row for that shape, origin, carat, colour and clarity to your price data.

The total is the ring's base price plus the price of the selected stone. It is calculated on the app's server from your price data, and again when the ring is added to the cart.

By default the ring uses its own Shopify product price as the base. Use Ring base prices in the app only if you want a different base, or want to turn the selector off for a product.

When a shopper adds a configured ring to the cart, the app creates a separate product priced at the ring's base price plus the stone price. This is how the ring goes through Shopify's normal checkout at the right price. These products have the vendor “Made to order” and the tag custom-ring-creator, and they are unlisted, so they do not appear in your store's search, collections or sitemap.

Yes. Shape, diamond origin, carat, colour, clarity, ring size and the diamond price are saved as line item properties, so they appear in the cart and on the order in your Shopify admin.

Yes. On Ring images, assign a photo to each carat weight for a shape. A carat left blank falls back to the product photo.

Yes. On Appearance you can show each step as pills or as a dropdown, and adjust the layout and shape of the options. A live preview shows the result before you save.

The selector is a theme app block, which you add to the product template in the theme editor, so no theme code changes are needed. See the setup guide.

Current prices and trial length are shown on the app's Shopify App Store listing and on the Plans page in the app.

Billing runs through Shopify, so the subscription appears on your Shopify invoice. You can change your plan from the Plans page in the app.

The app tells you when an upload would exceed your plan's shape limit, and nothing is changed. Upgrade on the Plans page, or remove a shape from the file.

In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Apps and sales channels, find Custom Diamond Ring Builder and choose Uninstall.

Shopify sends the app a shop erasure request 48 hours after uninstall, and the app then deletes the data it holds for your store. See the privacy policy.
